The Youth Conference of 2010

OH yeah........Never forget this one.

As a L.D.S. youth, it has to be my duty, my desire and my obligation to attend such event especially in this part of the world. In the cluster of countries that has different views of the life that makes our practice of faith difficult to express or show due to the fact that they prohibit the activities or the services.

One thing is very amazing though, despite the fact that they stop it, we, the L.D.S. , still managed to find away of doing such event even though there are hindrances, conflicts to school, or even work. But there is always a way for us to unite. And it's God's way of making us united despite of age, nationality, status of life, or the color of the skin.

All over the years of attending this event, it's very enlightening that we all came from different countries of the Middle East. We go and meet up on this country, we do some service projects, have some other people from different wards of the Middle East.

The first part of the Youth Conference, The Travelling Part.

Going to Bahrain is not hard, it's not easy too, but let's stick to the not hard part, and we go there by land, which is somehow long if you are impatient, but this is my oppurtunity of taking a large peek of the whole part of the desert. Stupid? I don't think so. On your way, you will see that the sand from the nearing border of Riyadh changes to different colors upto the nearing border of Dammam-Khobar. And also, you get to see different types of camels. From the One humped camel to the Bacterian camel, in colors black, white, beige, and brown. It's not much of a scenic travel but on our way, this is the time to really know what kind of country is Saudi Arabia. And i would say it's not really bad. In fact, they are way better than where I originally came from.

Next part of the Youth Conference, The Arrival.

Since we were the first ward to arrive, we took the liberty of the going to the basement and hang out, but obviously the Bahrain is always the first because that is their ward to start with. This is the time to take pictures, be hyper while the other wards are not yet there, and to meet some leaders who are seriously kind and nice.

The third part of the Youth Conference, The Food.

This is one part of the Youth Conference you can never forget, EVER! Because they have wide range types of food there, including Mexican, American, Filipino, and many more. And the way they do it and serve it, seems like there is the touch of heaven. You just can't stop going back to get some more and more and more until you feel bloated. ( I am not encouraging glutony here, OK?)

The fourth part of the Youth Conference, The Dance.

Well, this one gave me the complete headache the day after. The music for the dance were highly chosen and strictly monitored. The start of the dance was kinda low because most of the youths are too shy to go to the dance floor. But there are some who are always hyperactive to go to the dancefloor and drag people in. Well, I was one of the dragged people, but I dragged some. The songs were very nice and many enjoyed it.

The fifth part of the Youth Conference, The Testimony Meetings.

At this part, this is the time where the youths have their opportunity to bare their testimony. What I bore was kinda freaky that made many people  of the Y.C. to ask how did I managed to do such and made some worried and concerned. And this is the time where you would really feel the Spirit, even though you don't feel like baring your testimony. And this is also the time to show what you feel or experienced from the past or something.

The sixth part of the Youth Conference, The Beaching.

Well, I must say I really enjoyed this part, even though after this part, many have suffered from sun burn which is very unpleasant, or the overtanning if you didn't desire the one you had after this part. Well, we had some games that really gave me great joy despite the fact that we always lose in our team. Anyways, it was really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really fun. No matter how you participated the whole part, you would enjoy it.

The seventh and the last part of the Youth Conference, The Departure.

It's very very very sad to leave the place, especially when you made new friends. It breaks my heart to see them leave and to see you leaving them. But we can't stay for long. We still have our lives to work on, lives to take care of, and lives to make. ( I am not referring to making babies, OK?) You know what they say: " Facebook is always there to connect us with each other.".

The whole part of the Youth Conference, It's totally amazing. No doubt.

And I wish I will remain a youth.(Dream ON!!!)

And I am so totally grateful to have such an event. The whole 72 hours was worth spending.
